Audit Project Management

Course Description
This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of audit management processes, principles, and practices. The course will cover the key aspects of audit management, including planning, executing, and reporting on audits, as well as managing audit teams and communicating with stakeholders.
The course will begin with an overview of the audit process, including the various types of audits, their objectives, and the roles and responsibilities of the audit team. The course will then cover the key elements of audit planning, including risk assessment, scoping, and setting audit objectives. Participants will also learn how to develop audit programs, design audit procedures, and manage resources effectively.
The course will then focus on the execution of audits, including conducting fieldwork, collecting, and analyzing audit evidence, and evaluating audit findings. Participants will learn how to identify and assess control deficiencies, and how to communicate audit findings to management and other stakeholders.
The final part of the course will cover the reporting and follow-up phases of the audit process. Participants will learn how to prepare high-quality audit reports, including developing conclusions and recommendations that address identified risks and control deficiencies. The course will also cover best practices for tracking and monitoring audit recommendations, as well as communicating audit results to senior management and other stakeholders.
Course Objectives
This course is designed to provide participants with a solid understanding of audit management principles and practices, as well as the skills and tools needed to effectively manage and execute audits. By the end of the course, participants should be able to apply their knowledge to develop and implement effective audit management strategies and practices within their own organizations.

Instructors
Monique Thompson is a highly experienced financial and operational auditor with over 15 years of experience in both internal and external audits for public and private entities. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Accountancy degree, both of which have enabled her to develop a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial analysis. Monique is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), which has equipped her with the knowledge and skills to effectively audit and assess information systems and technology.
Monique's career has been focused on auditing and compliance, and she has held several key roles in this field. As the Director of Audit & Compliance, Monique was responsible for managing audits, legal matters, ethics, document retention, public records requests, and risk management. In this role, she demonstrated her ability to lead and manage a team while maintaining a high level of accountability and transparency.
Throughout her career, Monique has been dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, as well as identifying and mitigating risks. She has a proven track record of delivering high-quality audits that have resulted in improved financial controls and operational efficiencies. Her attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders make her an asset to any organization.
Additional Information
TAC Rule 523.142(g) requires the CPE Sponsor to monitor individual attendance and assign the correct number of CPE credits. Participants will be asked to document their time of arrival and departure in compliance with this Rule. Additionally, attendance will be monitored throughout the day and CPE certificates will reflect actual attendance of each participant.
If you are making travel plans to come to Austin, we recommend making "refundable" air and hotel reservations or waiting until 14 days before the class to actually book your reservations. Courses are occasionally canceled or rescheduled due to low enrollment. We determine whether a course has enough participants 16 days prior to the course date. If we cancel or reschedule, we will email the participant and his or her billing contact no later than 14 days before the original class date.
Vending machines with Coca-Cola products and various snack items are available. There is also a refrigerator and microwave in our coffee bar area. Feel free to bring in your own drinks and food if you prefer.
You might want to bring a light sweater or jacket, as room temperatures vary.
