Overview
The Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) at Angelo State University (University) significantly increased the number of clients receiving its cybersecurity monitoring services without appropriately planning for the accompanying increase in operating expenditures.
The RSOC complied with expenditure and reporting requirements and followed its processes for responding to cybersecurity detections. However, the RSOC did not maintain records of all cybersecurity detections, establish consistent contract terms and conditions, verify that external access to its systems was appropriate, or ensure that all staff completed and maintained required training and certifications.
