Fundamental Principles & Standards: A Refresher on Red and Yellow Book Requirements
Course Description
This course will help participants gain familiarity with the IIA International Professional Practices Framework, commonly referred to as the Red Book as well as the related Government Auditing Standards, i.e., the yellow book guidance. We will discuss the definition and mission of internal audit, core principles, and cover the Code of Ethics. Participants will gain an understanding of the attribute, performance, and implementation standards; discuss the practical application and usefulness of the implementation guidance.
Course Objectives
• Understand the distinction between the mandatory and non-mandatory guidance
• Understand the definition and mission of internal audit, along with the core principles and Code of Ethics
• Discuss the application of attribute, performance, and implementation standards
• Discuss the practical usefulness of the implementation guidance.
• Discuss associated Yellow Book guidance.

Instructors
Tali Ploetz is an industry recognized expert in governance, risk, internal audit, fraud and compliance. Her personal mission is to provide practical training and advice designed to strengthen team member skillsets and improve corporate internal control environments to ultimately prevent issues/internal control breakdowns.
Additional Information
§ TAC Rule 523.142(g) requires the CPE Sponsor to monitor individual attendance and assign the correct number of CPE credits. Participants will be asked to document their time of arrival and departure in compliance with this Rule. Additionally, attendance will be monitored throughout the day and CPE certificates will reflect actual attendance of each participant.
