Course Description
Communication is a cornerstone of success for individuals and organizations. Yet often, it is one of our most underdeveloped skills. Improving your communication skills is one of the best ways to increase your influence. Whether you’re an introvert, or the “Town Crier”, you must continually build your communication skills and become a "seller of ideas"...this session will help! With these strategies, you can reduce the frustrations that result from poor communication. Learn to more clearly and concisely present your ideas and perspectives. And you’ll become more persuasive and better able to show others how to communicate better with you. From negotiating with a GC to directing your own team members, this approach to communication will allow you to develop greater influence and effectiveness at work…and, you’ll discover it works in your personal life as well. This presentation will help you become a better communicator, which in turn, will increase your influence and effectiveness.
Conflict Resolution
Do you find yourself having to play referee, psychologist, and parent to get others to "play well in the sandbox". Unlock the strategies you’ll learn in this session to resolve conflict quickly and effectively. You’ll also see how to help avoid conflict by creating a less contentious atmosphere that fosters more teamwork and customer service internally AND externally. Learn to facilitate a professional and constructive confrontation, allowing both parties to voice their opinion and hear the other person's perspective. Also learn to separate fact from feelings and determine root causes so you can eliminate the actual problem(s), not just symptoms.
AI can’t Replace EQ
There is much talk, debate, prediction, concern, and even fear about the advent of Artificial Intelligence and how it will affect and/or replace humans in the workplace. While advances in technology are amazing and exciting, they can also cause speculation and trepidation about the impact it will have on jobs we do, how we do them, and whether a computer or robot will replace some of our workforce in the not-so-distant future. While we can’t predict everything that AI will do and the totality of its impact on the workplace, we can be sure of this…AI won’t ever negate the importance of emotional intelligence. In this presentation, we’ll explore 8 aspects of human interaction for which we will never depend on artificial intelligence. Participants will discover how personality, personal preferences, unconscious actions, and natural tendencies can positively or negatively impact a single exchange or a lasting relationship. They’ll understand five different inherent human motivators and how they can not only identify those in others, but also how they can effectively utilize those observations to illicit people’s “best effort.” Ultimately, if the strategies taught in this presentation are applied and/or implemented, you will possess an irreplaceable skill set that can’t be overridden by artificial intelligence.
