Course Description
Government auditors frequently encounter resistance, defensiveness, and communication challenges when working with audited agencies. These interpersonal dynamics can impact the quality of information gathered, delay audit progress, and reduce the effectiveness of audit outcomes. Despite this, most audit training emphasizes technical skills, with limited focus on the behavioral competencies required in real-world audit interactions.
This course addresses that gap by providing practical, psychology-informed strategies to help auditors navigate challenging interactions and conduct more effective interviews. Participants will gain tools to manage resistance, maintain professionalism in difficult situations, and improve the quality of communication during audit engagements.
Instructional Approach:
Interactive, scenario-based learning
Realistic audit simulations and role-play exercises
Practical techniques designed for immediate application
This course is co-facilitated by a Clinical Psychologist and an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, integrating behavioral science with audit practice to enhance participant engagement and learning outcomes.
By strengthening communication, conflict management, and interviewing capabilities, this training supports improved cooperation with audited agencies, more reliable audit evidence, and more effective audit outcomes.
