Course Description

The Fraud Triangle has shaped fraud risk thinking for decades. Opportunity, incentive, and rationalization remain useful lenses. But when organizations rely on the model alone, they often focus on symptoms rather than root causes.

Fraud does not emerge in isolation. It develops within organizational environments that either discourage misconduct or quietly enable it.

This course examines the strengths and limitations of the Fraud Triangle and introduces a broader, more proactive framework for identifying the underlying conditions that increase fraud risk. Participants will explore how organizational dynamics influence behavior, why certain environments amplify risk, and what leaders and auditors can do to address those drivers before misconduct occurs.

Through practical examples and applied discussion, participants will leave with actionable strategies to strengthen fraud prevention efforts and move beyond reactive controls toward structural risk reduction.
