Electronic Classification Analysis System (E-Class)
The Electronic Classification Analysis System (E-Class) is a Web-based application that can be used to analyze statewide employee-related data. The data in E-Class is gathered from the Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System (USPS), the Standardized Payroll/Personnel Reporting System (SPRS), and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This data, which has not been independently verified by the State Auditor’s Office (SAO), does not include data from higher education institutions, data on retired and former judges who work on assignments, or data on service members called into a state active-duty status. If you have questions concerning information in this system, please contact your agency's classification analyst at the SAO at (512) 936-9500.
E-Class counts all employees who worked at any time during a given quarter at a state agency within headcount. In contrast, the FTE System reports headcount at state agencies and higher education institutions as of the last day of a quarter. Because the two systems report on different populations, the numbers in these systems are not comparable.
As an Official Texas State Government System, E-Class may be used only for authorized purposes. The SAO may monitor and audit the use of this system, and all persons are hereby notified that use of this system constitutes consent to such monitoring and auditing. Unauthorized attempts to access this system, upload information, and/or change information on this site are strictly prohibited and are subject to prosecution under Texas Penal Code, Section 33.02 (Breach of Computer Security).
