Overall Conclusion
The State Classification Office reviewed 539 planning, research, and statistics positions and found that 85 (16 percent) of these positions are misclassified. State agencies may spend up to $60,386 to properly classify these positions. Proper classification and compensation of positions are vital to reduce the financial and business risks that can be associated with misclassified positions.
