1995 Savings Profile System for Texas School Districts
Report Number 96-069
Overall Conclusion
The 1995 Savings Profile System identified $470 million in potential cost savings outside of classroom instruction. In addition, non-instructional costs increased at a faster rate than instructional costs during the 1994-1995 school year.
Key Facts and Findings
Each school district receives additional detailed information that reflects the district's rank among its peers, per student district costs compared to its peer group median costs, and the potential savings.
This is our fourth year to publish the Savings Profile System. During the past three years, school district administrators, board members, consultants, and state agencies have used the information to assist them in assessing the fiscal efficiency of a district's operations.
